Start Menu Reviver is a Start menu updater that ties to combine the simplicity and availability of classical Windows Start menus with the design choices of new Microsoft operating systems. The application allows for more personalization by user choice providing free access to launch pad. You can manipulate tiles, Windows tasks, websites, documents, music files, video files, etc. This is an interesting idea, but what about the execution? Let's check it out.

The application actually does exactly what it promises. Major elements of the Start menu are all upgraded. Search box works fast and is navigated easily finding applications, accessing computer settings and documents. Elements of Windows 7 interface are available to grant instant access to more advanced options. Launch capabilities combine both traditional older applications and modern Windows programs that can be all started from the upgraded menu, which is immensely useful to traditionalists like me. Moreover, this little app lets you create titles for websites directly in the program menu. The Start button itself is customizable with many options to choose from. If you want to revert back to Windows 8 interface, just select this option if Start Menu Reviver.

Start Menu Reviver is compatible with versions of Windows OS for touchscreen devices, since it supports touch pad functionality. The application also allows for resizing in multiple variants.

All in all, I find Start Menu Reviver to be a small, but extremely amusing program. It doesn't do anything critically important, but adds a nice touch to cosmetic aspects of Windows. Start Menu has always been an object of many complaints ever since Windows Vista. Now, you can change your Windows 8 in a way that will make you more comfortable. What's not to like about that?
